Positions

On this page I am stating some of the positions I am holding. The word “position” is chosen deliberately to summarize both facts and opinions.

General

Opinion: Good things are good, and bad things are bad.
- Explanation: This sounds like a tautology, because it arguably is, but a lot of people tend to forget it: We do not need to justify why we want good things but not bad things.
Fact: Understanding someones problems is neither necessary, nor sufficient to support them in their suffering.
- Opinion: People who have to understand someone else’s problem to support them are likely to lack firm morals.
- Opinion: People who support even those whom they don’t understand are likely to have firm morals.
Opinion: It is far more telling about a person to learn why they hold an opinion, than what opinion they hold.

Fact: Climate change is real, man-made, and catastrophic.
Opinion: Continuing to further climate change is the largest crime in human history, likely to significantly exceed the combined death-toll of all previous genocides.
Opinion: Propaganda to further the use of fossil fuels should be considered incitement to genocide and punished severely.
Fact: Vaccines work.
Opinion: Vaccines should generally speaking be legally mandated.

Fact: Healthcare for trans people is bad in every single country on earth, no exceptions.
Fact: The International de-facto standard of care is self-medication (“DIY-HRT”).
Fact: DIY-HRT saves lives.
Fact: Attacks on trans people are artificially created by right-wing media to distract poor people from unjustifiable wealth-inequality.
Fact: Trans people were one of the victim groups of the Holocaust, just like Jews, Romani people, disabled people, and many others.

Opinion: Laws are social contracts. If they are not applied equally and fairly, that social contract can become invalidated.
Opinion: Radbruch’s formula is a good way to deal with the law.
Opinion: The legitimate purposes of a punishment are, in that order: Rehabilitation, deterrence, and direct prevention of further crimes.
Opinion: The death penalty is unjustifiable for crimes committed by individuals as individuals without using institutional power.
Opinion: The same holds for true life sentences.
Opinion: The previous two points do not apply to crimes committed by (ab)using institutional power.
- Explanation: Institutional power here refers to governmental power or power in large corporations.
Opinion: The International Criminal Court (ICC) should, as the only court in the world, be able to sentence people who abuse institutional power to commit crimes that fall under the Rome statute to death.

Opinion: Freedom of the press is a means to an end, namely the accurate and critical reporting about people and institutions of power.
- Opinion: Freedom of the press is not an end itself.
- Opinion: If freedom of the press is regularly abused to spread misinformation, it looses its justification.
- Opinion: If freedom is never used for its actual purpose, it also becomes undermined.
- Opinion: Given the current state of the press, some discussion about the unlimited freedom of the press widespread in many western countries might be in order!
Opinion: No one should be allowed to own more than 1% of the shares of a significant news outlet.

Opinion: A rogues state is a state that does not recognize the ICC, refuses to comply with its decisions, or refuses to comply with its arrest-warrants.

Fact: The AFD is a nazi-party.
Opinion: Nazi-parties should be banned!
Opinion: Members of the AFD who are employed by the German government should loose their jobs due to illoyality.
Opinion: Members of the AFD should be imprisoned for membership in an anti-constitutional party.
Opinion: The CDU under Friedrich Merz is a proto-fascist, radical-right party.
Opinion: The CSU has been a radical-right party for many years.
Fact: CDU and CSU are anti-democratic parties.
- Explanation: This is most visible in their continued fight against election-systems that represent votes proportionally.
Fact: The results of the 2025-election demonstrate that roughly half the German population is ideologically aligned with fascism.

Fact: The Republican Party is a nazi-party.
Fact: Donald Trump is a nazi.
Fact: Elon Musk is a nazi.
Fact: The United States are not a real democracy and have never been.
Fact: Several of Trump’s prisons are concentration camps.
Fact: Trump and his administration are guilty of several crimes against humanity.

Fact: Israel is committing a genocide against Palestinians.
Fact: Israel was an apartheid regime discriminating against Palestinians beforehand.
Fact: Those who still deliver weapons to Israel or provide other support to that country are complicit in genocide.
Opinion: In line with the points listed under “Law”, Netanyahu and his cronies should be punished by execution.

Fact: The Ukraine War was started by Russia as an illegal war of aggression without any even remotely valid justification.
Opinion: The west has an at least moral, but arguably legal obligation to provide Ukraine with nuclear weapons, to replace those given up in the Budapest memorandum.
Opinion: The west should do whatever it takes to ensure a comprehensive Russian defeat.
Opinion: In line with the points listed under “Law”, Putin and his cronies should be punished by execution.
